Abstract

The development of drinking water pipeline networks is an essential component in the implementation of a sustainable Water Supply System (SPAM). The success of pipeline construction is strongly influenced by the selection of appropriate construction methods that are adapted to field conditions. The Umbulan Water Supply System Sub Distribution Center (Sub DC) Bunder–Manyar Project in Gresik Regency is a strategic project that utilizes High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) pipes with large nominal diameters and considerable pipeline length. The diverse field conditions, including open areas, road crossings, and river crossings, require appropriate construction methods to ensure effective and efficient project implementation. This study aims to analyze the construction methods of HDPE DN pipeline installation applied in the project, analyze the cost and time of project execution, and evaluate work progress based on actual field conditions. The research method used is descriptive with qualitative and quantitative approaches. Data were obtained through direct field observations and documentation studies, including the cost budget plan, project schedule, and progress reports. The results indicate that the open cut method is predominantly applied in open land areas with easy access, while the Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) method is used in road and river crossing areas. Cost and time analysis shows that the application of appropriate construction methods improves project efficiency and supports the achievement of planned project progress. Therefore, proper selection of construction methods plays a crucial role in the success of drinking water pipeline projects.
